On the other hand, Turkish army attacked the Siluleh village to the east of Kobanê with heavy weapons early this morning. In addition, a Turkish drone carried out activities over this area.

Turkish soldiers opened fire on our fighters as they went near the civilians. One combatant of ours has gotten injured as a result of the fire.”

Final declaration of the Federal System Constituent Assembly conference

Posted in Deutschsprachige Artikel, English, Espanol, Français with tags on 31/12/2016 by Karakök

The final declaration of the Northern Syria Democratic Federal System Constituent Assembly issued a call to all circles in Syria to take active part in the building of a Democratic and Federal Syria.

The Northern Syria Constituent Assembly conference began in the town of Rimêlan on December 27 and lasted three days. Yesterday, the 165-member council approved the Social Contract draft.

The final declaration of the conference was made public in a press conference.

Constituent Assembly member Elizabeth Koreyî who read the final declaration stated that the second meeting on the works of the Northern Syria Democratic Federal System Constituent Assembly, which was declared on March 17, 2016, was held with the participation of 165 members from the three cantons and Shehba region on December 27-28-29 in the scope of the developments in Syria and the region.

Accordingly, the conference witnessed an evaluation of the current process and the latest situation in Syria, military and political developments-mainly in Northern Syria- Turkey’s occupation of Jarablus and efforts for the occupation of al Bab, threats against Manbij and Efrîn, changes these have caused in the demography of the region and attacks on civilians. It was agreed that Turkey’s invasion of Syrian soil must be opposed and stood against.

Participants of the conference also discussed the military developments in Aleppo and Palmyra, changes in the balance of power and consequent effects of these changes for the coming process.

According to the final declaration, participants called attention to the importance of a ceasefire in Syria, and emphasized that all key elements should sit around a joint table for the resolution of the Syrian crisis in order that the previous failed talks and meetings aiming a solution do not repeat.

Constituent Assembly member Elizabeth Koreyî stated that the gains achieved by the Syrian Democratic Forces during the operation to liberate Raqqa were also assessed. Koreyî continued as follows:

“After that, the Executive Council’s report was read. All activities by the committees up to date were assessed in the report. The Social Contract articles among the main points on the agenda were separately assessed and necessary changes were made in some articles.

The Constituent Assembly shared the political document set forth for the resolution of the crisis in Syria. The Assembly stated that the Northern Syrian Federation was a part of the Democratic and Federal Syria. The Federal System was assessed to be a democratic solution for the future of Syria and a system to guarantee an exit from the current crisis and to prevent social collapse. In addition, the administration experience we have achieved since the July 19 revolution that occurred with the participation of all peoples has posed an example for all of Syria.

Our call for the democratic and national forces that believe in a political solution is to come together and build a Democratic and Federal Syria that includes all peoples. With that, we call on all political and social groups in Northern Syria to take active part in the democratic system.

We gift this victory achieved through the blood of our martyrs to all the peoples of Syria for the new year.”

The curfew declared by the Turkish state in Mardin’s Nusaybin district on March 14 continues in the 6 neighborhoods in the district with most of the district’s population. The houses damaged during the curfew with artillery from tanks and mortars are being demolished as well as undamaged ones. The demolition has been completed in Zeynelabidin and Kışla neighborhoods while the demolition in Dicle, Fırat, Abdulkadirpaşa and Yenişehir neighborhoods continue. The barbed wire fences surrounding the Zeynelabidin and Kışla neighborhoods haven’t been removed, even though the destruction and pillaging are done. People are not even allowed through to the cemetery in the area.

The sound of dozens of construction machines working simultaneously in four neighborhoods demolished by the Turkish state forces can be heard all over the city. The people try to enter the streets, now turned into open land, and figure out their plots.

At the fifth anniversary of the massacre in Roboskî, we wanted to remind everyone of the stories of the 36 people.

34 people from Roboski and Bujeh villages of Şırnak’s Uludere district, 28 of them from the same family, were massacred by bombs from Turkish jet fighters on December 28, 2011.

As the fifth anniversary of the massacre draws close, those responsible for the massacre are still in the dark. At a time when deaths are reduced to numbers, we as the ANF will remind you of the stories of those murdered in Roboskî.

Seattleites Form Neighborhood Groups to Resist Trump

As soon as the results were in on election night, Seattle-based activist Kaya Axelsson and several fellow organizers knew they had to do something — fast. While the idea of community-based activism driven by Neighborhood Action Councils (NACs) was a concept Axelsson and her colleagues were familiar with, November 8, 2016 “is the first time we said it out loud to each other,” she says. To prepare for a Trump administration, the feeling was extremely clear: “We need to do this.”

Within days, Axelsson and some 50 Seattleites had formed what’s now been dubbed the Neighborhood Action Coalition, an all-volunteer umbrella for the hyperlocal groups being created across the city to help guard against the President-elect’s agenda—which, so far, could include everything from creating a Muslim registry to denying climate change to defunding all sanctuary cities like Seattle, which effectively shield undocumented immigrants from federal officials.

Five days after election night, Axelsson helped organize a forum where hundreds gathered to discuss their fears (so many, in fact, that the bar where it was held overflowed onto a nearby park). On Sunday, December 4, the second event Axelsson helped with — the Neighborhood Action Coalition’s official kickoff — drew almost as many people, and within minutes, attendees had stopped wanting to talk about their post-Trump feelings and begun pulling up lists of concrete, local actions. “In the first 15 minutes of the event, they were ready to go,” Axelsson says.

Examples include anti-racist education, particularly with regards to Muslim and immigrant communities. One idea, for instance, is a series of workshops that debunk persistent stereotypes about Islam. “The first step for us is going to be fighting that xenophobic rhetoric, especially if we are a sanctuary city and funding does get cut for us,” Axelsson says. “People are going to feel the sting of that” and it could, potentially, create bad feeling, as “it’s easy to be in solidarity when it’s no cost to you.”

One community organizer says he’ll work to create a hate-free zone in Rainier Beach, according to a Neighborhood Action Coalition press release; another says she’ll help create a phone tree so that Seattleites can mobilize when needed. Another idea, says Axelsson, is for activists to be ready, in the event of an Immigration & Customs Enforcement raid, to dispatch large groups of people to the scene in order to “confuse an ICE officer.” Activists are looking to take to the streets on inauguration day, and brainstorming ways to protect their digital communications against federal surveillance. During the second half of Sunday’s event, more than two dozen local nonprofits gathered for a “Community Action Fair,” too, which also offered people concrete ways to get involved.

“I’m excited about gently, but firmly, pushing my community to take more political risk,” says Axelsson, who grew up in Capitol Hill. Solidarity, to her, means action. She’s organized for gender justice, climate change, and racial justice issues in the past; she says she’s “someone who puts their body on the line fairly often for political causes” and is still dealing with the repercussions of being arrested for that. A future with even more arrests in it looks scary. “I fear political persecution,” she says. “If the NSA made a list of troublemakers, I would be on it.” But a bigger fear than that one is that people won’t take those risks, at a time when, she believes, we have to. “We’re pushing a political line… we have to push it forward because [a Trump administration] is going to try to push it back.”

There are now NACs for every Seattle City Council district, and Facebook groups for each, which will soon be posted on the Coalition’s website and Facebook page. Those interested in getting involved — and really, Axelsson says, “all levels of engagement are welcome and necessary right now,” even just bringing food to meetings — could connect to either the main group or their neighborhood’s group. The Coalition has a listserv and an email address (SeattleNAC@gmail.com) that people who aren’t on Facebook can contact, too.

The galvanizing effect of what even our state attorney general has called “unthinkable” is definitely a good thing, Axelsson adds, but she’s loathe to use the term “silver lining.” As “happy as we are to have each other in this time,” she says of herself and fellow organizers, “We’re not happy.” In order to maintain a sense of urgency, which organizers are reminded of constantly, “You have to feel that sadness and that fear.”

‘I helped create ISIS’: Iraq War veteran says US policy caused ‘blowback’ in Middle East

Saying he had “helped create ISIS,” an Iraq War veteran and US Marine is speaking out about the atrocities and criminal activities he and his fellow soldiers engaged in during the Iraq War, claiming he knew it would lead to “blowback” in the Middle East.

Former Marine Vincent Emanuele’s acknowledgement of responsibility comes in an article that was posted on TeleSUR’s English website, in which he hoped to answer the often raised question of “Where did ISIS come from?”

“When I was stationed in Iraq with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 2003-2005, I didn’t know what the repercussions of the war would be, but I knew there would be a reckoning,” he wrote at TeleSUR. “That retribution, otherwise known as blowback, is currently being experienced around the world (Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, France, Tunisia, California, and so on), with no end in sight.”

Speaking with RT, Emanuele said his enlightenment came on his second tour to Iraq and was the result of a simple question.

“I saw my fellow Marines kill innocent people, torture innocent civilians, destroying property, mutilating dead bodies, running over dead corpses, laughing and photographing people while doing so,” he said. “For me it was very simple. I sat there in Iraq and I asked myself ‘How would I behave?’ ‘What would I think if I was in the shoes of the Iraqi people?’”

In his article, Emanuele described how he and his platoon literally trashed Mesopotamia by throwing garbage out of their Humvee, and pelting children with Skittles, water bottles full of urine, rocks, and debris. He remembers stories told by soldiers of torture carried out on detainees in makeshift detention facilities.

“I vividly remember the marines telling me about punching, slapping, kicking, elbowing, kneeing and head-butting Iraqis. I remember the tales of sexual torture; forcing Iraqi men to perform sexual acts on each other while marines held knives against their testicles, sometimes sodomizing them with batons,” wrote Emanuele.

This would have been at the height of the Abu Ghraib prison scandal in 2003, which came to public attention when Amnesty International published reports of human rights abuses by the US military and its coalition partners at detention centers and prisons in Iraq. One former prisoner of the US who survived was Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who is now the leader of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).

Posted in anti militer, Avrupa haberler, Deutschsprachige Artikel, English, Espanol with tags on 07/12/2016 by Karakök

euromaidan-ukraine-kiew-500x250

This is a call for action: Gegen die herrschende Ordnung der Welt, den revolutionären Kampf organisieren, bis jede Grenze fällt.
