Gas canister hits HDP co-chair Yüksekdağ

Turkish police hit HDP General Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ with gas canister in her head.

HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, DTK co-chair Hatip Dicle, HDK co-chair Ertuğrul Kürkçü and a group of HDP deputies arrived in Silvan and started to march towards Tekel neighborhood.

The politicians were attacked by police forces that blocked their access to the neighborhood. Yüksekdağ was battered and HDP deputies were directly targeted in the police attack which has reportedly left some of the politicians injured.

Clashes erupted and spread across the district upon the people’s response to the police crackdown on Diyarbakır Street.
